TRAINING

A three months’ preparatory course has been arranged to assist in mastering the jewelry arts and to get acquainted with this type of craft. During this course one can master the skills of soldering, engraving, chiselling, forging, metal sculpturing, stone fixing, as well as can learn how to make complicated chains, rings, ear-rings, pendants and bracelets. Apprentices can also master the knowledge of drawing, plastering and composition. During this time they get rid of their fears and unconfidence. The apprentice acquires clear notion about this profession and, consequently, it is easier for him/her to make the right decision regarding the further training process.

When the first steps are accomplished in this preparatory course and the decision made to continue the cognition of the jewelry arts world, here starts the more diligent training in each discipline. A great attention is paid to the precious metal melting and its further priming for jewelry manufacturing. The apprentice finds out how to make his own sphere made of different metals: gold, silver, platinum, palladium, steel, brass, copper, aluminium. In this course along with technical subjects a great attention is paid to high-principle and artistic growth. A new lesson has been added – the so-called „idea generation" that broadens the cognition outlook helping to consider things from another point of view. Since art is subject to communication laws, the transfer of a message and its interpretation are of great importance. A technique is only the way of expression. Accordingly, the more a student knows and understands a metal, the easier is to express himself.
Theoretical classes take place simultaneously with a practical application. In this way the theoretical material is mastered easily and doesn’t remain only in training notebooks. Within the first year the students are gradually acquainted with jewelry making instruments and tools. Some of tools a student learns to make by himself.
Students also familiarize themselves with gems and their processing. Gem fixing methods are mastered as well.
As a result of this training the apprentice is able to create his own idea and to materialize it in a form of a final product without any assistance from the part of a master craftsman.
